Materials We Deliver
Crushed Stone / Aggregate The foundation of good pavement. We deliver various grades of crushed limestone and aggregate for base preparation, drainage applications, and general construction use.
Common grades include:
- 2A Modified (compactable base material for driveways and parking lots)
- 2B Limestone (drainage applications, French drains, foundation work)
- #57 Stone (drainage, decorative use, dry wells)
- #8 Stone (paver bases, pipe bedding, smaller drainage applications)
Driveway Gravel For gravel driveways, we deliver materials that compact well and stay in place. Proper gravel driveway construction uses multiple layers with different stone sizes.
Topsoil Quality screened topsoil for landscaping, lawn establishment, and garden beds. Delivered in bulk for larger projects.
Fill Dirt Clean fill for grading, raising low areas, and general site preparation.
Delivery Details
Minimum Order Most deliveries have a minimum order size to make trucking practical. Contact us for current minimums.
Delivery Area We deliver throughout Westmoreland County including Latrobe, Greensburg, Ligonier, Derry, Mount Pleasant, Scottdale, Connellsville, Irwin, Jeannette, and Murrysville.
Scheduling We schedule deliveries to meet your project timeline. Need material on a specific day? Let us know when you call and we’ll coordinate.
Placement Standard delivery dumps material at a designated location on your property. Let us know about any access restrictions, overhead wires, or soft ground conditions when ordering.
Aggregate for Driveway and Parking Lot Base
If you’re preparing a base for asphalt paving, the aggregate layer is critical. This is the foundation that determines how long your pavement lasts.
Proper base construction requires:
- Correct stone grade (typically 2A Modified in our area)
- Adequate depth (6-8 inches for driveways, more for commercial)
- Proper compaction
- Appropriate grading for drainage
We supply the same base materials we use on our own paving projects. When Blackout One delivers your aggregate, you’re getting PennDOT-specification material.
Gravel Driveway Materials
A good gravel driveway isn’t just dumped stone. It’s a layered system designed to drain well and hold up to traffic.
Bottom layer: Larger stone (3-4 inch) for drainage and stability Middle layer: 2A or 2B crushed stone for base Top layer: Smaller stone for the driving surface
